Adverbial Clauses are considered as modifying the verb of the main clause.

Place	where	Where there is a will, there is a way.

Cause	because	Because of the cold weather, we stayed home.
	since	Since he’s not interested in classical music, he decided not to go to the concert.
Condition	if	If I see him, I will invite him to the party tomorrow.
	unless	We won’t have the picnic unless the weather is good.
Contrast	although	Although it is late, we’ll stay a little longer.
	even if	She is very friendly, even if she is a clever student.
Purpose	that	He bought a book so that he could learn English.
	in order	They went to the movie early in order to find the best seats.
Manner	as	He did as I told him.
	like	They may beat us again, like they did in 1978.
